Catch the Battery Park City Winter Art Exhibition while you still can!

Battery Park City’s Winter Art Exhibition has only one week left before it will close for the season.

The art has been on view in the office headquarters of Battery Park City Parks since January, but in May, BPC Parks’ art programs start back up again and development of next year’s exhibition will begin. This means the Winter Art Exhibition will take a break on Friday, March 31st until next January–so head down to headquarters while it’s still around! The exhibition features works by artists of all ages, interests and skills that participated in BPC Parks’ art programs, which run from May through October.

From imaginative preschoolers to master artists, participants are inspired by the world around them. Many classes focus on expressing an artistic vision of the surrounding environment, whether it be the panoramic Hudson River vista, the bustling urban landscape or the lush parks and gardens of Battery Park City. Even artists in their 10th year of the program continue to be inspired by the ever-evolving scenery! The youngest children are especially observant of the plants, insects and creatures that call Battery Park City home.

The exhibition also features work from the Portfolio Development for Teens programs, which are designed for serious artists developing a formal body of work. These classes explore the fundamentals of art and design through drawing, painting, printmaking and more, drawing inspiration from anatomy, nature studies and the urban cityscape.
Be sure the check out the works made by these incredible artists in their last week on exhibition, and get excited for another season of BPC Parks art programming!
