BETTISSIMA: TREASURES FROM THE ELIZABETH KRAY ARCHIVES

# Betty Kray (1916 – 1987) – dubbed Bettissima
by E.E. Cummings – was a visionary arts
administrator, co-founder of Poets House with
Stanley Kunitz and an advocate for poetry
and American poets. Kray was also director of
the Academy of American Poets and Poetry
Center of the 92nd Street Y. The exhibition, on
display through April 26, includes nearly 100
letters from poets, documenting 20th century
