"Battery Park City and the Authority are not just about the buildings – it’s about the character of the community that has developed over time. Public space has had a new renaissance in New York City, but here in Battery Park City is where it started."

BATTERY PARK CITY CELEBRATES PRIDE WITH INSTALLATION OF LARGE-SCALE PRIDE FLAG ON ROCKEFELLER LAWN

To commemorate Pride Month and the 50th Anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising, BPCA is installing this week a 10,000+ square-foot Pride Flag in the center of Rockefeller Park’s north lawn.

This temporary installation, created using athletic field paint, is 130’ x 80’ and celebrates LGBTQ+ residents, staff, and visitors – as well as BPCA’s commitment to diversity and equality.

Members of the public are invited to see the flag and welcome to engage in all park activities atop the installation. Photographs are welcome – and encouraged! Use the hashtag #BPCPride.

A mockup of how the installation will appear upon completed is below.

Watch a time-lapse video of flag installation here.

Rockefeller Park’s lawns are open dawn to dusk, seven days a week.
