"Battery Park City and the Authority are not just about the buildings – it’s about the character of the community that has developed over time. Public space has had a new renaissance in New York City, but here in Battery Park City is where it started."
BPCA’s annual tree recycling program is underway. Here’s how to participate: Simply place your unadorned tree curbside through Friday, January 27 for pickup – no stands, lights, ornaments, or tinsel, please – and we’ll take care of the rest.
As the holiday season wraps up each year, the BPCA collects Christmas trees to chip and use for composting, plant protection, and soil insulation and enrichment throughout Battery Park City’s parks. With your help we collect and recycle roughly 2,000 trees each year!
The Authority’s annual tree recycling effort marks the traditional start of the winter programming season. Check out the full range of winter events here.
