“We are deeply saddened by news of the passing of Anthony Notaro, longtime Battery Park City resident, partner, and friend. We remember him for his wisdom, kindness, and consensus-building approach in a world where such traits are all too rare.
“Throughout his many years of dedicated service, be it planning the annual Battery Park City Block Party, chairing Manhattan Community Board 1’s BPC Committee, or leading CB1 as Chairman from 2016-2020, Anthony was tough but fair, and never lost his sense of humor or sight of the big picture.
“So we mourn, but also celebrate his life as a fighter and leader in a community he loved dearly – and one made better for his efforts. Our thoughts remain with his beloved wife, Susan, brother Ken, niece Lindsay, stepchildren Lauren and Christopher, his extended family, and countless colleagues and friends.”
