Together, we will explore the parks of BPC, and see what makes this spot a hang-out for urban birds and marvelous migrators! Binoculars and field guides provided, or bring your own.

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, join us for one of BPCA’s most popular events highlighting the importance of stewardship and conservation of our local waters. The day features catch-and-release fishing with experienced anglers, an art project, and a nature walk with The Bee Conservancy. Teatro Sea will present The Galapagos Convention, a live play with puppetry.

Practice the skills required to operate a rod and reel and experience the thrill of catch-and-release fishing. Identify our native fish for data submission to research groups to help monitor the health of our local waters. Water testing and other fun projects will augment the study. In partnership with the Battery Park City Library, join us for a weekly walk & writing session led by Author and Poet Jon Curley. Taking inspiration from the unique landscape of Battery Park City, participants will be encouraged to consider the environment and learn to use observations in nature as a way to enhance their writing styles in any preferred mode. SENIOR GROUP EXERCISE

Strengthen the whole body from warm-up to cool-down with various fun exercises. The instructor will lead you in rhythmic movement and aerobics, balance and coordination exercises, as well as strength training. Come join the group and workout to great music!
