Fall is a special time in BPC: along with the changes in trees and gardens, Monarch Butterflies and many species of unique birds are migrating through. Celebrate this time with art and nature activities. Participants are expected to bring their own general supplies, such as crayons, markers, colored pencils, watercolor paints (bring your own container of water), glue, and scissors. Pick up a “kit bag” with instructions for the project of the day.
Program is first come, first served for up to 20 children with accompanying adults.

ADULT OUTDOOR ZUMBA

Irish Hunger Memorial

Exercise in disguise! Join in on the fun featuring easy-to-follow Latin dance choreography while working on your balance, coordination and range of motion. Come prepared for enthusiastic instruction, a little strength training and a lot of fun. Participants are expected to bring their own equipment: weights, water bottle, hand towel etc.

Program is first come, first served for up to 15 participants.

NATURE IN THE PARK

Celebrate the nature found in our beloved BPC parks. Pick up a self-guided worksheet that will invite you to tour the gardens investigating plants and trees, as well as the pollinating insects and birds that visit the parks of BPC.
Participants are expected to bring their own pencils and clipboards.

FAMILY RECREATION: BASKETBALL

Kick start your afternoon with seasonal recreation activities! Practice the basics of basketball with fun and challenging games and drills for all levels at the BPC Basketball court. Skill-building sessions focused on balance, coordination, movement and awareness. Closed-toe shoes required. Adult participation is required at all family recreation programs. Participants are expected to bring 1 basketball per player.

ELEMENTS OF NATURE DRAWING

Wagner Park 20 Battery Place, New York

Wagner Park, with its amazing gardens and views of the Hudson River and New York Bay, is the perfect setting to practice your art. Participants are expected to bring their own drawing and painting supplies, including drawing boards and containers of water if they are planning to paint. BPCA will supply drawing paper and watercolor paper only.

South Cove is a special place in autumn, and what better time than Saturday mornings to practice your art!
