Swedish Midsummer Festival

Enjoy this annual celebration of the summer solstice. Join in lively dance around the Midsummer pole.
Make floral wreaths, enjoy a parade, children’s games, and Swedish delicacies.

Presented by the Consulate General of Sweden, New York and Battery Park City Authority

Grand Entrance

Located at the corner of Murray Street & River Terrace, a red carpet type moment with Swedish flare. 

Flower Line

Floral Crowns

Make traditional flower headers with flowers provided at the festival, and demonstrations by SWEA.

Games & Activities

Festival goers are invited to play games and take part in various activities throughout the park.

Traditional music by Paul Dahlin and fiddlers from the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis.

Market and Food Court

Market & Food Court

Visit booths from Swedish artisans and festival sponsors. Traditional Swedish food, candy, and beverages are available for purchase. 

Dancing

Dancing!

Join in lively dance around the Midsummer pole. Dances led by Ross Sutter, a Scandinavian folklorist.  The festival ends with an epic party DJ set.
