Benefits Overview for Full-Time Employees

Medical, Dental, and Vision

Employees and their dependents are eligible for Medical/Vision/Dental Insurance effective on their first day in a full-time position.

Commuting Benefits

  • Monthly transit benefit ($133 for NYC-residents and $325 for non-NYC residents)
  • Parking Program (employee-funded up to the annual IRS limit)

Employee Wellness

Flexible Spending Account (FSA): Healthcare and Dependent Care options (up to $500 match) Wellness Program- annual wellness reimbursement of up to $750

Retirement Plans

To help our employees build a financially secure future for themselves and their families, BPCA participates in the following retirement plans:

  • NYS and Local Retirement System (NYSLRS) or Voluntary Defined Contribution Plan (VDC) (for eligible employees as an alternative to NYSLRS)
  • NYS Deferred Compensation Plan (NYSDCP) voluntary retirement savings.

Paid Time Off

We offer a great paid time off package which includes:

  • Vacation Leave (can accrue up to 13 days in first year)
  • Sick Leave (can accrue up to 9.5 days in first year)
  • 2 Floating Holidays
  • 5 Personal Days (dependent on start date)
  • 11 Standard Holidays

BPCA University

BPCA University, which started in 2022, was created to give staff a chance to learn about what other departments do and build stronger connections across the organization. It’s all about creating opportunities for people to step outside their usual roles and get a deeper understanding of how different teams work together. The program also helps staff explore the cultural institutions and experiences around the neighborhood, giving them a chance to connect with the community and expand their horizons in ways that go beyond the office.

Summer Internship Program

The Summer Internship Program is an engaging and fun 10-week program that prepares students to enter the workforce. Our interns work on key projects, receive valued-added mentorship and guidance, and share opportunities to network internally and in some cases with external partners. This program is designed to give students a glimpse of real-world workplace experiences, while simultaneously learning about Battery Park City Authority’s mission, vision, sustainability practices, and leadership.
