COMMUNITY NOTICE: LIMITED LAWN CLOSURES THIS FALL

Each fall, the Battery Park City Authority closes a portion of its most heavily-used green spaces to provide time for healing and regrowth. Beginning the week of November 18, temporary fencing will be installed for this purpose around the following lawns in Battery Park City:

– North End Avenue Lawn
– Rector Park East Lawn
– Rockefeller Park South Lawn
– Teardrop Park (small lawn)
– West Thames Park Playground Lawn

The following BPC lawns will remain open to the public this winter:

– Rector Park West Lawn
– Rockefeller Park North Lawn
– Teardrop Park (large lawn)
– Murray Street Triangle
– Lawns adjacent to the Irish Hunger Memorial

As a reminder, “Pet Free Area” signage is also installed on our lawns. While leashed pets are permitted on hard surfaces throughout Battery Park City, they are not permitted on parks lawns and green areas. Read more in our updated It’s a Dog’s Life in BPC brochure.
