NORTH BATTERY PARK CITY RESILIENCY PROJECT: DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT STATEMENT PUBLIC HEARING

Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 6PM – read more and register here

The North/West Battery Park City Resiliency Project (NWBPCR) will provide protective measures along the northern and western portions of Battery Park City to reduce the risks associated with storm surge and sea level rise.

As part of the State Environmental Quality Review (SEQR) Act, BPCA has prepared a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS), which analyzes the potential environmental impacts of the proposed NWBPCR. In compliance with the SEQR Act, BPCA has made the North/West Battery Park City Resiliency Project DEIS available for public review and comment. You can access all DEIS documentation here.

BPCA is hosting a hybrid public hearing on the DEIS on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, starting at 6:00 PM at Stuyvesant High School and virtually over Zoom. The hearing is part of the public comment period for the DEIS, which starts on August 28, 2024, and ends on October 7, 2024 (extended from September 28, 2024). This hearing does not include a question-and-answer session; questions received as part of testimony will be addressed in the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) later this year.

Submit your comments about the DEIS to nwbpcrinfo@bpca.ny.gov.
