BPC HOLIDAY SCHEDULE, NEWS & NOTES

The offices of the Battery Park City Authority will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year’s Day (December 25, 2024 and January 1, 2025, respectively). There will be no staff onsite, and Teardrop Park’s public restrooms, as well as the Irish Hunger Memorial, will be closed to the public. Questions and comments can be sent to BPCA anytime via email at info.bpc@bpca.ny.gov.

For quality-of-life issues across Battery Park City’s parks and public spaces, BPC Ambassadors can be reached on a 24/7 basis at (212) 945-SAFE/7233, via email (bpcallied@bpca.by.gov), or in-person at the 200 Rector Place Command Center. As always, please dial 911 in the event of an emergency.

On Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve (December 24 and 31, 2024), the Teardrop Park restrooms and the Irish Hunger Memorial will close at 3:40PM each day. On all other days (excepting Christmas Day & New Year’s Day, as noted above) regular winter hours of operation remain in place – 8AM to 6:30PM for restrooms; 8AM to 6:45 for the Memorial.

As reminder, collection of Christmas trees begins December 26 and continues through January 31, 2025. Please place your tree at the curb — without decorations, lights, or tree stands, please — for collection by our Parks Operations team.

And finally, a thank you to all who joined our annual Holiday Lights Celebration earlier this month in Rockefeller Park — and to the tens of thousands of residents, visitors, partners, and friends who attended all our free events this year. Remember, Battery Park City’s full lineup of winter programming kicks off in a few weeks and we’ll look forward to seeing you here again soon!
