COMMUNITY NOTICE: RECTOR PLACE PEDESTRIAN ACCESS RESTORED

Upon completion of tide gate chamber installation at the terminus of Rector Place last month, pedestrian access to the Battery Park City Esplanade was restored on Monday, March 31. This tide gate chamber, part of the South Battery Park City Resiliency Project (SBPCR) scheduled for completion later this year, will help prevent storm surge through the existing outfall pipe during storm events.

The remaining construction fencing will be removed over the coming weeks as seasonal plantings are made and final site restoration work concludes.

Thank you for your patience, Battery Park City!
