Explore the wondrous ecosystems of Battery Park City through a naturalists’ lens. Young environmental stewards will practice observing wildlife using binoculars, learn catch-and-release fishing skills, and identify native plants in a fun and safe setting. An exciting fusion of badminton and tennis, pickleball has been proven to strengthen muscles, boost cardiovascular health, and enhance brain function. Each Tuesday and Thursday the net at Esplanade Plaza will be lowered to allow for pickleball games, on a first come first serve basis. Permits are also available at bpca.ny.gov. No program 6/19.

A wonderful opportunity for little gardeners and their accompanying adults to get a bug’s-eye-view of the world! Join us as we read stories about the life within our garden beds and then head into the Children’s Garden to water, dig, and admire the plants and flowers all around us! Together, we will observe the changing seasons and learn about the pollinators and other insects who help our plants thrive. Gardening is a great introduction to teaching us how to care for the environment.
