		- NOIRVEMBER FILM SERIES: THE NARROW MARGIN
- 6:30pm - 8:30pm
This event will occur as scheduled.Location: 6 River Terrace
Time: 6:30pm – 8:30pmEach November, movie fans celebrate the hallmark antiheroes, femme fatales, moral complexities, and the stunning black & white cinematography of film noir. Free popcorn will be served, and a discussion will follow each screening. In The Narrow Margin (Richard Fleischer, 1952, 72 minutes) a tough cop (Charles McGraw) meets his match when he has to transport the widow of a gangster (Marie Windsor) to the trial in which she’ll testify. They travel by train from Chicago to Los Angeles with their lives constantly under threat from hit men on the train, who will stop at nothing to prevent her from testifying. In 1952, The New York Times called it “a trim, sizzling little humdinger” and writing in Cahiers du Cinéma, François Truffaut said that the film “is charged with very moral nitroglycerine but confers a grace that any sweaty driver of a heavy, slow-moving vehicle might envy.” Watch the trailer here. Our Noirvember series will continue at 6 River Terrace:
