Challenge your artistic skills by drawing the human figure. Each week a model will strike short and long poses for participants to draw. Artists/ educators will offer constructive suggestions and critique. Materials provided, and artists are encouraged to bring their own favorite media. The Moth Community StorySLAM is a noncompetitive, open-mic storytelling event in which anyone can put their name in a hat to share a five minute personal story on the night’s theme live without notes!

Immigrant Stories is a collection of films that illustrate the immigrant experience as it progresses along the generations. Free popcorn will be served, and a discussion will follow the screenings.

A Serious Man (Joel and Ethan Coen, 2009, 106 minutes). In 1967 Minesota, a mild-mannered Jewish physics professor named Larry Gopnik seeks guidance from three rabbis as his life collapses under an increasingly absurd and biblical series of misfortunes.

The Guardian called it a “sublimely funny, involving, utterly distinctive serio-comedy of mid-life crisis” and said “A Serious Man had me gripped from the first frames, and the film conjures a woozy, weightless feeling, combined with an almost hallucinatory clarity and heightened sense of itself.”
