YOUNG SPROUTS GARDENING
A wonderful opportunity for little gardeners and their accompanying adults to get a bug's-eye-view of the world! Join us as we read stories about the life within our garden beds and then head into the Children’s Garden to water, dig, and admire the plants and flowers all around us! Together, we will observe the changing seasons and learn about the pollinators and other insects who help our plants thrive. Gardening is a great introduction to teaching us how to care for the environment.

Drop by the Community Room and join seniors from the greater BPC area for conversation, and informal card and board games. Make new friends and catch up with neighbors.

Discover the fun and rewards of tending a garden. Plant annuals and native perennials, and take part in watering, weeding, composting, and other green gardening practices. Learn how our resilient garden provides food for pollinating insects and birds. Fun nature studies and art projects will augment the program. For children who love nature and like to get dirty! This BPC park offers a unique setting to observe and sketch the human figure. Each week a model will strike short and long poses for participants to draw. An artist/educator will offer constructive suggestions and critique. Drawing materials provided, and artists are encouraged to bring their own favorite media.

SKYSCRAPER MUSEUM WALKING TOURS: BPC SOUTH NEIGHBORHOOD
This tour explores Battery Park City’s southern district, which is home to the Skyscraper Museum and includes some of BPC’s earliest landscapes and infrastructure, as well as the residential enclaves built in the 1990s that followed the 1979 Cooper Eckstut Master Plan. We will visit historic Pier A, Wagner Park, and South Cove, as well as the green spaces that connect to the Esplanade, the first waterfront park in New York since the Brooklyn Heights Esplanade in 1951, and learn about the developing Resilience Action Plan of BPCA.

Based on a Hungarian folktale, Son of the White Mare (Marcell Jankovics,1981), is a swirling, color-mad epic journey to save the universe. Reminiscent of the hallucinatory palette of “Yellow Submarine” and the rich visual storytelling of “Fantasia”, critics have deemed it one of the greatest psychedelic animated movies ever made.
