EMERGENCIES
For emergencies or crimes in progress, dial 911 for immediate response by the New York City Police Department.
NEIGHBORHOOD COORDINATION OFFICERS
As part of NYPD’s Neighborhood Policing initiative, there also four Neighborhood Coordination Officers (NCOs) assigned to Battery Park City, two each to its northern portion (above West Thames Street) and southern portion (below West Thames Street). The NCOs serve as liaisons between the police and the community, but also as key crime-fighters and problem-solvers in the sector. Battery Park City’s NCOs are:
Our 1st Precinct NCOs also regularly coordinate and host “Build The Block” meetings to talk about neighborhood safety and to ensure constituent concerns are heard and questions answered. Find the next scheduled Build the Block meeting here.
QUALITY OF LIFE CONCERNS
For quality-of-life concerns, our Battery Park City Ambassadors can be reached on a 24/7/365 basis by phone at (212) 945-SAFE/7233, by email (bpcallied@bpca.ny.gov), or in-person at the 200 Rector Place Command Center.
BPC Ambassadors patrol Battery Park City’s parks and public spaces by foot and on bicycle, and regularly lend assistance to NYPD and other law enforcement agencies as appropriate. BPC Ambassadors with additional NYPD training are designated as Special Patrol Officers may issue summonses for certain violations of parks rules.
