In The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith (1978, Fred Schepisi) a man of half-Aboriginal ancestry is pushed to the breaking point that provokes a violent response when he brutally murders his employer’s family. Free popcorn will be served, and a discussion will follow the screenings.

    Our latest film series focuses on the unique narratives that highlight Australian culture, history, or landscape. In The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith (1978, Fred Schepisi) a man of half-Aboriginal ancestry is pushed to the breaking point that provokes a violent response when he brutally murders his employer’s family. Free popcorn will be served, and a discussion will follow the screenings.
