  • The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Communications and Public Affairs is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive set of strategies for communicating to and engaging with external stakeholders in pursuit of the Authority’s goals. These goals include, among others, the successful execution of the Authority’s portfolio of resiliency projects, the responsible management of its real estate assets, the first-class maintenance and programming of its 36 acres of parks and public spaces, and extensive cultural and recreational programming.

  • The Production Coordinator plays a key role in preparing and facilitating Battery Park City’s varied public programs, special events and live performances. The incumbent of this position fills multiple roles including leadership, coordination and support roles in activities, classes, and events depending on the nature and requirements of the specific program. Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Parks Programming and the Production Manager, the Production Coordinator provides administrative and logistical support which ensures that programs and events are well-planned, executed responsibly, safely, and graciously to all park visitors. The Production Coordinator will be fully immersed in event day preparations that include set ups/breakdowns, sound checks, artist’s services and audience engagement.

  • The Associate Contracting Officer (ACO) leads and facilitates BPCA’s procurement activities in accordance with BPCA Procurement Guidelines and applicable law.

  • The Treasury/Revenue Accountant is responsible for carrying out a range of functions in the areas of treasury processing and revenue receivables in a proficient and efficient manner.

  • The Director of Diversity Contracting is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to expand contracting opportunities for Minority and Women-Owned Business Enterprises (M/WBEs) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Businesses (SDVOBs) on contracts awarded by the Authority or private developers doing business with the Authority. This role also serves as the Authority’s Language Access Coordinator, ensuring compliance with Executive Order 26 (2011) and effective service delivery across communities. The Director of Diversity Contracting plays a key role in promoting inclusive procurement practices and equitable access to Authority opportunities, while collaborating across departments and with external stakeholders to achieve compliance and diversity goals.

  • The Summer Internship Program offers students work experience and professional guidance in several areas of the organization. Interns contribute to projects that support departmental work, develop new skills, and gain insight into their career interests. Interns will have the opportunity to explore behind the scenes of Battery Park City Authority’s innovative vision and design, complex public space management, leadership in sustainable practices, and commitment to outstanding public resources.

  • The Seasonal Sports and Recreation Assistant is an essential part of a team that is tasked with supporting a wide variety of leisure and organized recreational activities to park visitors of all ages. Programs include a variety of children’s sports and cooperative games, senior fitness, yoga, and other movement programs set throughout the parks and indoor community spaces. This role provides direct delivery of parks programming to the public and performs a variety of administrative roles in support of these programs. The assistant will fulfill multiple roles including leadership, coordination, and supporting roles in activities, classes and events depending on the nature and requirements of the specific programs.

  • The Seasonal Team Member: Arts & Play is an important member of a team that is tasked with implementing a wide variety of weekly play, art making, and educational activities for park visitors of all ages. Programs include preschool play, preschool story-time, sing-along, children’s arts education, adult art, and other education programs taking place throughout our parks. Hours will fluctuate up to 20-25 hours per week depending on scheduled programs and events. Hours can and will be adjusted throughout season by the Associate Director based on the candidate’s performance and ability to meet essential duties.

  • The Seasonal Permit Associate will assist in planning, coordinating, processing, and distributing permits for the use of Battery Park City Authority’s (BPCA) public spaces. In addition, they will have the opportunity to learn about BPCA’s mission, its 92 acres of landscape, BPCA green initiatives, composting programs, and art installations, including its 36 acres of parks and open spaces. Through the permitting process, they will gain insight into how BPCA’s parks and public spaces are utilized. This includes receiving applications, understanding insurance requirements, and executing final permit agreements. Additionally, they will learn about BPCA’s green initiatives and composting programs for events.
