B.P.C. PEOPLE – Robert Nesmith

Robert Nesmith started his career with BPCA as the Deputy Chief Administrative Officer in February 2013 and was promoted to Chief Contracting Officer this past May. In short time at BPCA, Robert has streamlined the contract monitoring process, created a new vendor responsibility process, and successfully increased Minority and Woman-Owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) participation and outreach.

Robert came to BPCA after 20 successful years at the New York City Comptroller’s office, rising to the position of Director of Research and Litigation Support. He is a graduate of the NYC Management Academy.

Born in the Bronx, Robert has a BA in Government Affairs/Public Administration from John Jay University and earned a MA in Urban Affairs from Queens College.

Robert loves to travel, especially to Miami Beach or wherever his favorite football team, the Dallas Cowboys, are playing. He is also an avid NY Yankee fan.

In addition to being an outstanding BPCA employee, Robert has a lesser known skill – he is the BPCA’s resident expert on BBQ! The next time you see him, ask him to tell you where to go for the best BBQ ribs!
