Community partners – once again – for the win!
BPCA recently received confirmation that the Department of Education (DOE) is continuing its renovation of Stuyvesant High School’s heating, air conditioning, and ventilation (HVAC), public address, and fire alarm systems this summer. The school will be closed to all activity beginning July 1 through August 25. As a result, the Community Center at Stuyvesant High School (CCSHS) will also be closed during that time until the work is complete. All active memberships will be extended for each day that the Community Center is closed.
To accommodate CCSHS members during that time, our partners at the Battery Park City campus of Asphalt Green have again generously offered currently active CCSHS members free membership from July 1 through August 31, 2025.
If you are interested in taking advantage of the membership at Asphalt Green, you must submit your information by June 1, 2025. If you do not complete the online form by June 1, you will not be eligible summer access at Asphalt Green. As of today, no new memberships, or renewals of previously expired memberships, will be initiated until CCSHS reopens in August.

While BPCA has no control over the renovation schedule at the school, we hope that a temporary membership at Asphalt Green is an acceptable alternative. And we’re confident CCSHS will be back and better than ever in late summer.
